Local woman strongly criticises 'toxic' social media platforms

A local woman has strongly criticised social media, saying she "hates it" and calling it "a cesspit."
Truagh Spirit's Fiona McCaffery Jones says she only uses Facebook for work and hates the impact platforms like Twitter and TikTok have on society.

She acknowledged that social media platforms were once used as a tool for connecting families across the globe, but now believes it has become toxic and unregulated.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show during the week Ms. McCaffery Jones said she believes national governments can't tackle the issue alone.
