A Killeshandra woman say it's a disgrace that two trailer loads of rubbish were lifted from a single road in the village this week.

Patricia O'Reilly, her sister and her niece were litter picking along the Ballyconnell Road yesterday, as part of the local Tidy Towns clean up.

Prams, a glass table, a bag of DVDs and cushions were among the items found in the ditches along the two kilometre stretch of road they walked.

It's the latest illegal dumping incident in the county this month, with a suite of furniture found near Kildallan last week.

Patricia told Shannonside Northern Sound they do a clean-up every few months and were surprised by how much they gathered.
