Northern Sound News understands a man has died in a road collision in Co Monaghan.
The R187 in Co Monaghan has remained closed overnight following the collision.
Gardai remain at the scene of what Gardai has described as a serious road traffic collision on the R187 near Inishammon, Smithboro.
The incident occurred late yesterday evening close to the border.
Gardai have yet to confirm the fatality and they say local diversions are in place.
