Man granted bail over Clones fatal collision

A man in his 60s has been granted bail in relation to a fatal collision which took place on the N54 at Legnakelly near Clones last July. Teenagers Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohammed died as a result of the incident. Anthony McGinn of Drumloo, Newbliss in Co Monaghan who is charged in relation to the fatal road traffic collision has been remanded on bail.

The man in his 60s appeared before Monaghan District Court today. Mr McGinn was granted bail of six weeks by Judge Raymond Finnegan and will appear before Monaghan District Court on the 22nd of April. The defendant is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of teenagers Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohammed and also dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm to another person.

Best friends 17-year-old Kiea McCann and 16-year-old Dlava Mohamed tragically lost their lives on July 31st, when the car they were travelling in, hit a tree on a section of the N54 at Legnakelly near Clones. The Monaghan teenagers were on their way to the Largey College School debs at the time.
