A 24 year old man has been remanded on bail in connection to a public order offence in Clones yesterday.

The incident took place in The Diamond area of the town just before 5.30pm.

The offence was captured on video and shared widely on social media, showing a large crowd gathering and a fight starting outside the Markethouse
Romario Carvalho, with an address at 26 Fermanagh Street, Clones was arrested, charged with a public order offence and appeared before Judge Denis McLoughlin at Monaghan District Court this morning.

An application for bail was agreed, and a date set for a hearing in Monaghan again on January 25th.

Wearing a black and grey jumper, the accused listened to the hearing through a Portuguese interpreter and thanked the judge after signing the bail bond.
Sergeant Damien Martin told the Court that a file is being prepared in relation to the incident.

Gardaí in Clones are continuing to investigate, and enquiries are ongoing.
