Two men arrested in Drogheda on suspicion of burglary in Carrickmacross are due in Court this morning.
A house was broken into in south Monaghan on Saturday evening and while no cash or items were reported stolen, an amount of damage was caused to the property.
Shortly after the burglary, a vehicle identified as being used in the incident came to the attention of Gardaí on the M1 in the Drogheda area.

As the gang escaped they were intercepted by an armed unit on the motorway and crashed their car after suffering a blow-out.
Two men, in their late teens and 20s were arrested at the scene and have since been charged.
They will appear before Drogheda District Court this morning.
