Corracrin National School in Emyvale has been given the green light for major upgrade works.
The official announcement came from the Department of Education on Friday which will see the extension and the refurbishment of two special needs education rooms at the Co Monaghan School.
Local Senator Robbie Gallagher says this announcement is great news for the board of management and the principal at the Emyvale School.

Senator Gallagher says that the wider community along with the board of management deserve great credit to get it to this tendering stage.
He added that he hopes it won't be too long before diggers are on site and this extension is completed to enhance the school going forward.
