A Monaghan agricultural economist has received an innovation award for a recent study.
UCD Professor Michael Wallace was awarded the NovaUCD Consultancy of the Year Award for his report into the tillage sector.
The Glaslough native's research revealed that the sector generates €1.3 billion a year and supports 11,000 jobs.

Professor Wallace says he's "thrilled" to receive the honour and says the study quantifies the substantial economic output of tillage.
