This week Monaghan Credit Union is highlighting International Fraud Awareness Week.
It's calling on members to be "vigilant" in relation to scams, particularly during this time of year.
Ann McKenna of Monaghan Credit Union says fraudsters are posing as family members to pressure victims into sending money.
