A father and son from Monaghan are climbing to the highest point in each county to raise money for two local charities.

Jim McCarron along with his son Patrick has taken on the challenge in memory of his late wife who died of cancer two and a half years ago.

They have undertaken this challenge to donate money and show their appreciation for Crocus in Monaghan and Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care, already exceeding their target of 2,000 euro.

With only two mountains left to climb, including Ireland’s highest mountain Carrantuohill, they are asking people to support the cause through their gofundme page.
