Monaghan Fire and Rescue has issued a number of warnings and reminders ahead of Halloween.
When it comes to fire prevention, the group is urging people be mindful of candle placement.
Ensure that candles, jack-o'-lanterns, or any open flames are positioned away from flammable items such as curtains, paper decorations, or attire.
Opting for battery-powered or LED lights instead of candles in pumpkins or outdoor embellishments can minimise the risk of fires.
In regards to pet welfare, Monaghan Fire and Rescue is advising to keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure space to shield them from the commotion caused by loud fireworks or trick-or-treaters.
Provide them with essentials like food, water, and a familiar setting for comfort.
