A motorist has been clocked travelling in excess of 150 kilometres per hour on the N3 in Cavan.
Cavan Roads Policing Unit carried out a number of speed checks on the N3 in the early hours of Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Gardaí handed out Fixed Payment Notices for speeding, with one motorist clocked at 153 km/h.

Four other drivers were caught doing speeds in excess of 140 km/h.
Local gardaí are reminding motorists to be conscious of their speed and to allow more time for your journey to work.
