Cavan Roads Policing Unit detected a car travelling at 163 kmph in a 100 kmph zone on the N3 over the weekend.
Gardai across Cavan and Monaghan were out in force over the weekend cracking down on high levels of speeding offences on our roads.
Local Gardai say they detected a large number of motorists travelling well in excess of the speed limit.

Multiple speeding detections ranging from 126kmph to 163kmph in 100 kmph zones were reported.
Gardai from the Cavan/Monaghan district say too many motorists are travelling too fast on roads across the region.
They say their main focus is to saves lives and make our roads safer for everyone and appealed for motorists to slow down.
