Cavan Roads Policing Unit detected a car travelling at 184 kmph in a 100 kmph zone on the N3 in recent days.
Local Gardai say they detected a large number of motorists travelling well in excess of the speed limit.
Some of the detections along with that motorist travelling 84km over the speed limit were one motorist travelling at 150kmph, another at 138kmph and 132kmph. Gardai from the Cavan/Monaghan district say too many motorists are travelling too fast on roads across the region. They say their main focus is to saves lives and make our roads safer for everyone and appealed for motorists to slow down.
