Monaghan Roads Policing Unit are warning motorists to be careful on any journey over the coming hours and be vigilant for falling debris onto the roads.
According to local Gardaí even before the weather warning have come into effect, conditions are deteriorating.
A Red warning is in place in Galway and Mayo from now until 9pm, while Donegal is in the red from 9pm tonight to 1am on Monday.

An Orange wind warning is also in place in Donegal, Galway and Mayo from 4pm today to 3am on Monday.
While a weather warning is also in place for the rest of the country from 5pm this evening to 2am tonight.
