The N3 road at Drumcrauve in Co Cavan remains closed this evening. A man in his 20s died as a result of a of fatal road traffic collisions which occurred in the early hours of this morning. The incident occurred shortly after 3 am this morning. The collision, between a truck and a car, occurred on the N3 at Drumcrauve in County Cavan. According to Gardaí a male passenger, aged in his 20s, was fatally injured.
The driver of the vehicle, a woman aged in her 20s, was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. No other injuries have been reported. The road remains closed at this time and traffic diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting an examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
