A Co Cavan man is reminding people to "never judge a book by its cover" when it comes to looking for love.
27-year-old James Donohoe was speaking to Northern Sound following his recent appearance on RTE2's 'First Dates' programme.
The Ballyhaise native who has praised the experience has now encouraged others to get involved. Speaking to Northern Sound he said that the show highlights the importance of getting to know someone, without solely depending on looks or immediate attraction which dating in 2024 often revolves around.

He said that it's important for people to "step out" of their comfort zone in terms of confidence building and reaping the awards:
