New report shows local house prices continue to rise

Supply isn't improving but interest rates may be having an impact.

House prices nationally increased by 3.7%, according to the latest Daft.ie report which shows the average cost of a home in the year to July was more than €322,000

Much higher increases have been reported across the Shannonside Northern region. In Cavan, prices in the third quarter of 2023 were 9% higher than a year previously, the average price of a home in the county now stands at €217,000.

In Roscommon, prices in the third quarter were also 9% higher than a year previously with the average price of a home in Roscommon now costing €207,000.

Longford saw prices over the same period rise by 8% - the average price of a home in Longford is now €197,000.

The average price of a home in Monaghan stands at €233,000.In Monaghan, with prices rising by 7% higher since last year.

While, in Leitrim prices over the last three months stood 7% higher than the same time last year with the average price standing at €185,000 for a home in the county.
