The newly refurbished Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen will re-open to the public on Monday.

The centre, which is in the former Saint Mary’s Church in Candleford, has been completely redeveloped and it now houses a state of the art, interactive visitor experience.

It originally opened in the mid-1990s but it's hoped new exhibitions and the Kavanagh trail will boost visitor numbers.

Work on the facility was carried out by Bailieborough company Carolan Murphy Ltd.

The centre will open from 10 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday, and pre-booking is advised via the Patrick Kavanagh Centre website or over the phone.

The manager of the Patrick Kavanagh Centre, Darren McCreesh, told Shannonside Northern Sound that there is something for everyone at the visitor experience:
