A fundraiser has been launched to construct an “interpretive centre” in memory of Monaghan Senator Billy Fox.
It’s planned the inhouse memorial will be located in Aughnamullen Church, and expand on the popularity of the nearby Billy Fox Memorial Garden. Senator Fox was shot and killed by the Provisional IRA 47 years ago, and was the only member of the Oireachtas to be killed during The Troubles.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the local community develop the interactive centre in his name.
