A number of developments have gotten the go ahead in Ballybay under the Public Realm plan.
In 2019 the scheme was launched and on Monday Monaghan County Council passed Part VIII planning to make way for 7 new houses to be constructed at the Courtyard Development.

The process for the Primary Care Centre is also nearing completion with hopes that construction will start soon.

Councillor Sean Gilliland says all of these projects will be a major boost for the area and he praised the work on the Carpark in the Courtyard which will be delivered before Christmas despite delays posed by Covid:
