The number of people on social housing waiting lists in Cavan and Monaghan fell last year.
New data from the Department of Housing shows both local counties saw an improvement in the number of people waiting when compared with 2019.
Just under 1,000 people - 997 - were on waiting lists in the Northern Sound region last year.

Monaghan saw one of the largest drops relative to its size in the country.
It saw 117 fewer people on its waiting list compared with 2019, dropping to 413.
Cavan meanwhile saw a drop of 24, bringing its total to 584.

Nationally, there were over 6,800 fewer people on social housing waiting lists across the country in 2020, a 9.9% drop on the year before.
