Only one Local Electoral Area has a covid incidence rate below national average

The Bailieborough-Cootehill LEA has the highest rate in the region.

The Ballybay-Clones LEA is the only local electoral area in the Northern Sound region with a covid incidence rate below the national average.

In the latest reporting period, the Ballybay-Clones LEA has a 14-day incidence rate of 377 per 100,000 population, against a national average of 394.

Elsewhere in the county, the Monaghan LEA is considerably above the national average with an incidence rate of 621 per 100,000, while the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney LEA has a 14-day incidence rate of 560.

The Bailieborough-Cootehill LEA has the highest rate in the region, at 631.

The incidence rate is lower elsewhere in the county, with Ballyjamesduff having an incidence rate of 485, while Cavan-Belturbet has a 14-day rate of 458 per 100,000.

The Waterford City South LEA has the highest incidence rate national wide, at 1,250 cases per 100,000 population.
