Over €225,000 in Covid funding has been granted to organisations across the Northern Sound region.
The supports from the Department of Rural and Community Development is aimed at groups that provide critical services within the community.
12 organisations in total across the region will receive the grants, aimed at organisations that have suffered as a result of the pandemic.
Bailieborough Swimming and Leisure Centre in Co Cavan is the biggest recipient in the Northern Sound region, benefitting from €95,000 in funding.
In Co Monaghan, Down Syndrome Centre North East receives the biggest allocation, at €20,000.
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, says the funding is an important lifeline for these organisations that play a critical role in supporting and assisting tens of thousands of people. TD Niamh Smyth has said the funding is in recognition of "the tremendous role being played by community and voluntary groups in supporting communities and delivering important services, particularly during these challenging times".
