IFA National Poultry chairman, Nigel Sweetman says producers are frustrated and need urgent action to deal with matters.

Retailers are being asked to pass back two cent per egg immediately to be ring-fenced for producers to help alleviate the cost pressure on farms.

IFA held an emergency meeting of egg producers in Cavan this earlier week as pressure continues to mount.

As a result, IFA National Poultry chairman, Nigel Sweetman says producers are now weighing up whether they should place orders for another flock of pullets or not.
