Parents of local Roses say they've done their counties proud

Cavan's Tara Rogers and Monaghan's Rachel Woods made their respective counties proud at this year's Rose of Tralee Festival.

The parents of the Cavan and Monaghan Roses say they've done the region proud.

Monaghan' Rachel Woods and Cavan's Tara Rogers appeared on the RTE show last night as they joined Daithi Ó Sé on stage in Tralee.

At the event, Westmeath Rose Rachel Duffy was crowned the 2022 Rose of Tralee.

Noel Rogers said one of his highlights was the opportunity to get to know the family of the Westmeath Rose during the festival.

On stage, the Monaghan Rose told stories about her beloved cows, her Volkswagen Golf and how she spent a summer working on the killing line at Grove Turkeys.

Noeleen Woods says it was a true reflection of who she is.
