People in Cavan and Monaghan asked to conserve water now to avoid shortages in August

Neither county is currently at risk as it is usually the end of summer when water levels in lakes and rivers here deplete.

People in Cavan and Monaghan are asked to conserve water now to avoid water shortages in August.

Peter Gallagher, the lead manager for Irish water in the region says that while both counties are not currently at risk it is usually the end of summer when water levels in lakes and rivers here deplete.

Peter says that people need to exercise caution and be responsible when it comes to water use in the home from avoiding running taps, long showers, baths, and fix any leaks.

He is reminding people to report any leaks they may see in their communities and that Irish Water offer a first fix service to people also:
