The renovation will also include a bar, function room and co-working office space.

A local Tidy Towns group has received planning permission for the renovation of two derelict structures to a gin distillery with a bar, function room and co-working office space.

Mullan Tidy Towns and Community Development lodged the application.

The buildings, known locally as "The Felt" and "The Dance Hall", are "described as intricate parts of the village's industrial heritage".

Works to re-roof the buildings have been completed with the permission of its owner in recent years, and the renovation work will be combined with a two-storey extension.

The consultant's report notes that all materials used will reflect Mullan's industrial heritage.

Permission has also been granted for connection to the group sewage treatment system and car park.
