Permission sought to replace Cavan mast with one twice as tall

Vantage Towers is seeking permission to replace an existing communications structure in Co Cavan with one that is more than twice as tall.

The works would see a 24 metre high communications mast replace an existing 10 metre high support pole at Prospect House, Knockaterry, Cloverhill.

The application says the project is part of Vodafone's plan to "enhance services" to customers in the area.

The application also notes that "it will be offered to all licenced network operators as a point of co-location" which will "reduce the need for alternative structures in the area".
