Andy's Bar in Monaghan town won a sliver and bronze award at the recently held national bar awards.
Owner Sean Redmond told Northern Sound that much of the premises' success is down to Kevin who is now making his own gin.
Sean says the bar also boasts an elite selection of whiskeys, putting the much loved local public house and restaurant in top position.
A new app launched during lockdown has also served to improve the facility's take-away service.
Sean says there is an onus on publicans and restauranteurs now to provide an 'experience' for customers who chose to drink or dine in public.
"You can't just open a door and expect people to roll in," he added.
"Perhaps that happened 20 years ago but that is not so now.
"You have to reinvent things and create an occasion.
"People want new experiences.
