A record number of home commencements in Cavan has been confirmed for first nine months of this year.
The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has published its monthly data on the number of Commencements Notices for September 2023.
In the first nine months of 2023 there have been commencement notices for 211 homes in Cavan, a 105% increase on the same period in 2022 which stood at 103 units for last year. 211 homes is a record when compared to similar periods since the data series began in 2015. Nationally, the strong uptick in commencements this year has continued with 23,923 homes having been commenced nationally up until last month.
This is a 14.3% increase on the same period last year standing at 20,919 for the first nine months of 2022.
