Cllr O'Reilly's motion asks Cavan County Council officials to write every local waste recycling company and ask them to clarify where the recycled waste they pick up in the area ends up.

People are being advised to dispose of household electrical items with a plug or battery including TVs, washing machines, IT equipment, stereos and mobile phones.

Used batteries brought along for recycling will support the Batteries for Barretstown cause.
