Road closed in Ballyconnell following traffic incident

Following a traffic accident at the roundabout on the approach to Ballyconnell, the N87 is currently closed temporarily.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the present.

Northern Sound understands that a youth has been airlifted to hospital following the incident.

Gardai have issued the following statement:

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic incident in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

The incident occurred on the N87 near Black Ridge roundabout at approximately 7:15pm this evening, Tuesday 20^th May 2025.

The road is closed and local diversions are in place.
