A rural area in West Cavan that has been targeted recently by illegal dumping has been described as a 'soft touch'.
Chairperson of the Templeport Development Association, Joe O'Reilly was reacting to household rubbish that was dumped on Bawn Mountain.
He said the perpetrators that drove up to the rural scenic area to dispose of their rubbish has no regard for the area of the people of the area. He said its unfortunately not the first time that illegal dumping has been carried out along the popular scenic loop walk that's located between Ballyconnell and Bawnboy.
Joe believes signage in the area highlighting no dumping in the area would work as a deterrent. He says the wider community is disgusted by this most recent incident.
