A Meath Senator with links to Co. Cavan has criticised funding given to Ukraine this week.
Senator Sharon Keogan didn't attend Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the Dáil this week.
Earlier this week, Ireland gave €125 million in financial support to Ukraine.
She raised about the alleged corruption taking place in Ukraine.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, she said Ireland has done its best for people coming from Ukraine.
According to the Senator, there is "serious corruption allegations" in the state.
She said there needs to be accountability and transparency in relation to the funding being given to the Ukrainian state.
Senator Keogan said: "This is not alleged, these are findings, these are people before the courts. This is all happening.
"They do have a Ukrainian national anti-corruption bureau set up to deal with this.
"Nevertheless, if we are giving €500 million of our money, it is important that the people of Ireland know that it is going to the sources that it is meant to be going to," Senator Keogan added.
