Sinn Fein's popularity 'doubles' with electorate

Sinn Fein appears to be enjoying a boost arising from its performance at the local elections in Northern Ireland.

Sinn Fein is almost twice as popular with the electorate as Fianna Fail and Fine Gael combined. A Red C Poll in today's Business Post puts the party at 34% with Fine Gael on 20% followed by Fianna Fail on 15 points.

The Social Democrats is on 6% ; Labour and the Greens are both on 4% with People Before Profit on 3% followed by Aontu on 1%. Michael Brennan of the Sunday Business Post says Sinn Fein appear to be enjoying a boost arising from its performance at the local elections in Northern Ireland.
