There could be very dangerous conditions on roads around the country this morning. A Status Yellow Snow/Ice warning meanwhile is in effect for Cavan, Monaghan and the rest of the country until midday, bringing rain, sleet and snow.
As a result, Northern Sound has been informed that all secondary schools in Monaghan Town are closed today. Other school closures across the region include the following; St Tiarnach's Primary School Clones, Largy College Clones, St Enda's Scotshouse, Gaelscoil Clones, Scoil Mhuire Clontibret, Doohamlet National School, Drung Central National School, Cootehill County Child Care, Scoil Phadraig National School Corduff, Scoil Éanna Ballybay, Ballybay central school, Corracrin National School and St Mary's National School Rockcorry, St Louis Infant School, Monaghan Institute, Tullacmongan Child Care Service Cavan Town and F.E.T Campus, Dublin Road Cavan. Loreto College Cavan is closed today due to road conditions & safety issues associated with travel.
