Nine out of ten local fire brigades are out attending the scenes of incidents caused by Storm Debi.

As Storm Debi swept across the Northern Sound region this morning, travelling was made difficult in some areas with fallen trees and flooding.

Staff at both Cavan and Monaghan county councils, local garda and fire stations are busy assessing the situation in their respective areas and are working to get information out to residents and anyone who needs to make a journey this morning.

Northern Sound will endeavour to bring you updates throughout the day as we receive them.
