The resource centre provided therapy, food parcels, and support to those isolated or living alone over the last year.

Teach na Daoine in Monaghan saw a major surge in those experiencing poverty and social exclusion due to the pandemic.

Packie Kelly project co-coordinator with the Family Resource Centre in Monaghan Town says that they were only closed for a short number of weeks due to the clear need for support people locally required.

He says that much of their work over the last year centered around the delivery of therapy, food parcels, and supporting those isolated or living alone.

Looking ahead Packie says the next few months will be tough but they will provide continued support and he hopes the kindness that emerged locally will stay post-pandemic:
