There is potential for temperatures to hit 30 degrees at the end of this week.

Temperatures in Co Cavan hit 24 degrees yesterday, and another warm front is on the way.

The Ballyhaise weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 24 degrees yesterday, with the Phoenix Park reaching 27.7 degrees, the warmest in the county.

Meanwhile, there is potential for temperatures to hit 30 degrees at the end of this week.

In the UK, an amber alert has been issued for Sunday, as Europe is braced for extreme temperatures that could reach 47 degrees in Spain.
