Ten people died on roads in Cavan and Monaghan during 2021

There was ten death on roads across Cavan and Monaghan during 2021.

Fifteen people have lost their lives on roads across the Shannonside Northern Sound region during 2021.

Five people lost their lives on Cavan roads and five road deaths were also reported in Monaghan during the past twelve months.

In 2020 there were two fatalities in Cavan and three in Monaghan

In Leitrim there were no recorded road deaths during 2021 while there was one recorded in 2020.

Two people lost their lives on Roscommon roads over the last year compared to five in 2020.

And in Longford there were three road fatalities and none recorded during the previous year.

According to the Road Safety Authority there were 133 people that died in 120 fatal road collisions in 2021 compared to 146 road deaths in 135 fatal road collisions during 2020.
