Tesco Ireland has applied to extend the time frame for a major development in Cavan.
The retailer has plans to construct a new supermarket on Cock Hill in Cavan Town, but the current planning permission issued by An Bord Pleanála in 2018 is set to expire in 2023.
The project, which was initially green lighted in 2013, has seen opposition from local traders who fear it could take business from the town center.

The request with Cavan County Council would see the permission for the development extended for an additional five years.
