Today marks 11 years since Fintan Traynor was killed in a fatal hit and run as he walked home after a night out in Castleblayney.
No one has ever been charged with this fatal hit and run that killed the 20 year Monaghan man.
In the early hours of Sunday the 26th June 2011 at Lemgare, Clontibret, Fintan was struck by a vehicle and was fatally injured. The driver of the offending vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene.
Local gardai are seeking further assistance in locating the vehicle and driver involved.
In their appeal Gardaí have said that In 11 year's loyalties, friendships and relationships change and perhaps someone that felt unable to come forward before is now in a position to provide vital information.
