Planning permission has been granted for works on the former Church of Ireland building.

Planning permission has been granted for safety and accessibility alterations to the Inniskeen Church in Co Monaghan that will "allow the former church to be used by the community at large on a more regular basis".

The former Church of Ireland building is a protected structure that is currently leased to the Inniskeen Enterprise Group.

The works will see alterations made to an existing window opening to provide a door, alongside accessible ramp and railings.

The existing glazing will also be replaced with timber windows, as the current windows have "inappropriate safety glazing".

The planning application stated that the works will "find an acceptable solution to upgrade the building while retaining its historic character".
