Vigils to be held in memory of Dundalk crash victims

Five young people, including two Co Monaghan natives, lost their lives in Co Louth on Saturday night

Candlelight vigils will be held this evening for the five victims of the Dundalk road crash.

Five young people, including two Co Monaghan natives, lost their lives in Co Louth on Saturday night.

The victims were Chloe McGee from Carrickmacross , Alan McCluskey from Drumconrath, Dylan Commins from Ardee who were all aged 23, and Shay Duffy from Carrickmacross and Chloe Hipson from Scotland both were age 21.

Books of condolence are also open to the public.

Parish priest in Carrickmacross, Mgr Shane McCaughey yesterday described the devastation in the community, saying communities in the north-east have yet to come to terms with the scale of the tragedy.
