Construction on the family cycle route in Monaghan's Rossmore Forest Park is expected to begin next year.
The local County Council says the design process is still ongoing, with the building of the path scheduled to get underway in the second quarter of 2021.
Earlier this year, the local authority received almost €300,000 to develop an off-road route within the popular forest park.

Cycling Ireland and Emyvale Cycling Club are co-operating on the design, which is hoped will act as a safe place for children to build their skills on two wheels.
