Works begin to clear obstruction on River Erne in Co Cavan

Works to clear an obstruction on the River Erne in Co Cavan have begun.

Waterways Ireland has advised masters of all craft that there is a boat wreckage partially obstructing the navigation on the River Erne approaching Belturbet.

The vessel is located around 800 metres downstream of the public moorings in Belturbet.

People are requested to exercise caution at this location and Waterways Ireland commenced works yesterday to clear the obstruction.

Waterways Ireland has apologised for any inconvenience this restriction may cause customers.
