Over €300,000 is being allocated to help remove education barriers and encourage young people in Cavan and Monaghan to learn music.
Music Generation Development Officer in Cavan and Monaghan Mairead Duffy says it'll help give students the opportunity to learn musical instruments.Music Generation is the national music education programme part funded by U2 and the government, with Cavan-Monaghan ETB matching the funding for the local programme. It's designed to complement music taught in schools and create performance opportunities for young people to improve.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mairead Duffy said the programme will be delivered by musicians for musicians.
