Only 34 per cent of Irish weddings took place in a Catholic church last year. That's in stark contrast to the 1990s, when over 91 per cent of weddings were celebrated in a church.
These findings are in a report published by the Iona Institute. Indeed, the report found many people are opting for 'new age' weddings.
