Darcy Lonergan from Carrickmacross Co. Monaghan has spoken about her time as Ireland's youngest major.
In 2012, she was elected to be major of Carrickmacross Town Council after she was nominated by a colleague. Darcy was previously a Green Party general election candidate.
Speaking to The Wider View this week, she spoke about her experience of the political scene in County Monaghan and the steps she has taken to encourage more young women to get involved in politics:
